Wildcard Weekly ("we", "our", "the Weekly") is a small editorial publication based in Brisbane, Queensland, publishing at zunaprel.pro. We treat reader information the way we treat review scores: sparingly and honestly. This page describes everything we collect, why, and what control you keep over it. We aim to act consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. What we collect, and when
We only receive personal information you type into one of our four forms:
- Letters to the editor — the name you want printed, your email, and the letter itself.
- Game pitches — the game details, your optional credit-line name, and no email unless you include one.
- Subscriptions — your first name and email address.
- The homepage signup band — the same two fields as a subscription.
Browsing the site requires no account, no login and no personal information at all.
2. What we use it for
Letters are used to compile the letters column; if yours is selected we print the name you supplied and nothing else. Pitch details are used solely to shortlist games for future issues. Subscription details are used to send the Thursday digest and for no other mailing of any kind. We do not build profiles, we do not enrich your data with third-party sources, and we never use reader information for advertising.
3. What we never do
We do not sell, rent, swap or lend personal information to anyone. We do not share reader details with game studios, including studios whose games we review. We send no marketing on behalf of third parties.
4. Where it lives and how long
Form submissions are stored on access-controlled systems used only by the three editors named on the team page. Letters and pitches are deleted after the relevant issue cycle closes, at most 90 days after receipt. Subscription details are kept only while your subscription is active and are removed within 30 days of an unsubscribe.
5. Your choices
Every digest email contains a one-click unsubscribe that works immediately. You may also ask us at any time to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it entirely — write to [email protected] and we will respond within 14 days. If you believe we have mishandled your information, you can also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
6. Children
The Weekly is written for a general audience and contains nothing unsuitable for younger readers, but our forms are intended for readers aged 16 and over. If you believe a younger child has submitted personal information, contact us and we will remove it promptly.
7. Cookies and local storage
Covered separately, and briefly, in our cookie notice. The short version: one local preference, and aggregate page counting only if you agree to it.
8. Changes to these notes
If we change how we handle reader information, we will revise this page and flag the change at the top of the next issue. The revision date above always reflects the current version.
